Accounts Assistant – up to 35K DOE plus bonus and study support
P&L Recruitment are working in partnership with our long-standing client based in Glasgow City Centre to recruit a full-time permanent Accounts Assistant. This role will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting in relation to Banks, Cash, Accounts receivable, Accounts payable and forecasting; as well as assistance in month end reporting and management accounts in an international multi entity group structure.
The main duties:
• Process and maintain financial transactions using Sage, ensuring information is accurately recorded within the accounting system.
• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring transactions are correctly recorded within the general ledger.
• Process and review supplier invoices, checking information for accuracy and ensuring timely recording of expenditure.
• Execute month-end payment runs, including preparation, checking and processing of payments within required deadlines.
• Review financial transactions and documentation to identify and resolve discrepancies and outstanding items.
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation in line with internal Finance processes and controls.
• Prepare the management accounts for review – profit and loss statements and balance sheets and any analysing variances
• Bank reconciliations
• Accounts Payable, cash management
• Review and monitor range of budgets
• Work with different teams in the business, finance and non-finance
• Maintain group fixed asset register
Main requirements:
- Previous accounts experience is essential
- Excellent communication and team working skills
- Strong Excel skills (V-Look-Ups, Pivots)
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ambitious and willing to progress
- Be able to meet deadlines
